Router or mesh?
If the router's position is already fixed and can't be moved, the app switches to finding the best spot for a node β also checking the quality of the backhaul link.

Before you start
Does the app send my floor plan or location anywhere?
No. The uploaded plan, walls, measurements, and recommendations are calculated and stored only on your phone. The location permission is required by Android to read WiFi signal strength β the app never sends it anywhere.
Is the router position recommendation guaranteed to be right?
In βBuilding / renovatingβ mode it's a physical model based on typical wall parameters, clearly marked as a starting point to verify with a measurement once you move in. In βI already have WiFiβ mode the model is fitted to your real measurements, so it's more accurate.
I don't have a router yet or don't know where to put it β can I still start planning?
Yes, that's exactly what βBuilding / renovatingβ mode is for. You skip the step of setting the router, and the app suggests the best spot based on the plan and the rooms you marked.
I have a mesh network with the same SSID on multiple devices β can the app tell them apart?
Yes, in scanning mode you can mark which BSSID is the router and which is the extender/node β this distinction is also visible when planning positions.
Which phones does Perfect WiFi work on?
The app is available for Android (from version 8.0). An iOS version is not currently available.
Does Perfect WiFi work without an internet connection?
Yes. Planning, calculations, and measurements all run locally on your phone β an internet connection isn't needed for the planning process itself.
Do I need to know the exact dimensions of my home?
You don't need to know them by heart. Just mark two points of a known distance on your uploaded plan β the rest of the geometry is calculated automatically.
Can I use a photo of my floor plan instead of a project drawing?
Yes. You can upload either a PDF of the floor plan or a plain photo of it β for example one taken on your phone at the developer's office or an architect's studio β and use it as a background to mark walls and rooms.
Does Perfect WiFi work in a multi-storey home?
Yes. The app supports multiple floors within a single project, calculating the recommendation while accounting for signal attenuation through the floor slabs between levels.
Does the app work with every router?
Yes β Perfect WiFi is based on the physics of signal propagation and your own measurements, not on a specific router model, so it works regardless of manufacturer or provider.
Can I plan several mesh nodes at once?
Yes. You can mark several planned nodes on your floor plan and check, for each one, whether it will have a solid link to the router.
